Renewable Energy

Rewa operates an integrated rice husk–based power plant that generates renewable energy for all major mill operations. By relying on husk—a natural by-product of the milling process—we produce electricity and steam internally, reducing our dependence on external grids and fossil fuels.

Carbon-Neutral Energy

Rice husk is a carbon-neutral fuel. Its combustion releases only the carbon absorbed by the plant during its growth cycle, resulting in no net increase in atmospheric CO₂. This positions Rewa as an environmentally responsible producer actively reducing its carbon intensity.

Circular Resource Utilization

Rice husk, often treated as agricultural waste, is fully utilized within our plant. Instead of contributing to pollution or landfills, it becomes a valuable renewable resource that fuels our boilers and steam systems.

Prevention of Open-Field Burning

By utilizing husk internally, we prevent open burning—a major source of particulate emissions and local pollution. The silica-rich ash generated from husk combustion is repurposed in industries such as cement, ceramics, and construction.

Sustainable Steam Applications

Our renewable steam supports essential processing functions: Parboiling for grain durability, Drying for moisture control, and Electricity Generation for self-sufficient operations.
